Nets land Jahlil Okafor in stunning trade with 76ers

According to multiple reports, much-maligned forward Jahlil Okafor is finally getting his wish to leave Philadelphia. In addition to Okafor, the Sixers will also send shooting guard Nik Stauskas to BK in exchange for Trevor Booker and a 2019 second round pick via the New York Knicks.

Okafor, who was drafted third overall in the 2015 draft, has only played only two games this season and it was clear why he wanted out, mainly because his teammate Joel Embiid has been playing really well and is healthy.

The Philadelphia Sixers are reportedly close to a deal that would trade Jahlil Okafor to the Brooklyn Nets, ESPN reported late Thursday afternoon. Brooklyn has started Timofey Mozgov and Tyler Zeller at times this season in the middle, but Okafor could develop with the team's young core, which includes D'Angelo Russell and Caris LeVert.

Booker, a seven-year veteran out of Clemson, is averaging 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds in 18 games.

Okafor publicly requested a trade or buyout on November 1 and the team declined his $6.3 million team option. He has played in only six of Philadelphia's 23 games this season.

In two games this season Okafor is averaging 5.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in 12.5 minutes.
