Met opera to probe misconduct charges against conductor

The Metropolitan Opera in NY has launched an investigation into its famed conductor, James Levine, amid news stories about a 2016 police report that accuses him of molesting a teenage boy decades ago.

Levine made his Met debut in 1971 and was named music director the following year.

Shortly after the article appeared online, The New York Times reported that Met officials had been aware of the allegations since a year ago, but that Levine had denied them.

When asked whether the BSO planned to conduct an investigation of its own into whether any sexual misconduct may have occurred during Levine's tenure as music director, a spokesperson for the BSO said the Boston symphony was not now conducting a review. "We'll now be conducting our own investigation with outside resources".

Dave Dombrowski Confirms Red Sox's Interest In Phenom Shohei Ohtani
Major League Baseball sent out a press release detailing the new posting system, which won't take effect until November 1, 2018. All 30 teams could potentially be in the mix, since worldwide signing caps significantly limit the price of the 23-year-old.

The Post alleges that there were "hundreds of incidents" by Levine against the teenage victim.

"It nearly destroyed my family and almost led me to suicide ..." In his complaint, the victim also detailed how Levine masturbated in front of him and kissed his penis.

The report details a years-long account from a man who was 15 when the alleged abuse began in 1985. He was trying to seduce me. We need to determine if these charges are true and, if they are, take appropriate action. The alleger explains in the report that the misconduct continued as he sought a mentorship from the famed conductor, who had promised to see if he could "be raised special like me". The man said that it was the beginning of years of sexual contact against his will with Levine. "On various occasions he would ask me how I touched myself and then he would touch me the way I touched myself", the victim wrote in his report.

New York Yankees hiring Aaron Boone as next manager
Of course, Red Sox fans remember Boone for his iconic walk-off homer to send the Yankees to the World Series in 2003. Boone, who played a full year in Billings in 1994, is just the second Mustang to become a major league manager.

The Opera on Saturday posted a tweet stating: "We are deeply disturbed by the news articles that are being published online today about James Levine".
