Doug Jones calls for Sen. Al Franken to resign

Sens. Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Bob Casey of Pennsylvania and Sherrod Brown of OH released statements calling for Franken's resignation, as did the chairman of the Democratic National Committee Tom Perez.

By mid-afternoon, more than half of the Senate's Democrats agreed that Franken must resign, including many of their leaders.

A group of Senate Democratic women came out almost simultaneously on Wednesday to call for the resignation of Minnesota Sen.

The calls came as another woman accused Franken of sexual misconduct in an account to Politico.

Franken has agreed to cooperate with the Senate Ethics Committee investigation into his behavior.

The sequence included a 33-yard pass to wide receiver Trent Taylor on third down that moved the ball into the red zone. Garoppolo (26-of-37, 293 yards, one interception) exhibited skillful accuracy, touch, mobility and overall leadership.

Franken has announced that he will make a statement tomorrow but, thus far, he has denied calls to resign.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D - New York) was the first USA senator to call for Franken to step down.

You can add DNC chair Tom Perez to the growing list, which also includes a growing number of Democrats in the Senate. It seems to me now that we're at a point that it would be best for the country and what would be best for his constituents is for Sen.

"Today, I am calling on my colleague Al Franken to step aside", Hirono wrote on Twitter.

Franken has been battling allegations of sexual misconduct since mid-November, when radio host Leeann Tweeden said he kissed and groped her without her consent during a 2006 USO tour.

On Wednesday, Politico published another accusation against Franken from a woman who said he tried to forcibly kiss her back in 2006. I have listened to my female colleagues, to women I work with and women in my life.

"For me, I think it's time for my friend to resign", King said in a statement.

Several other allegations have followed, including a woman who says that Franken put his hand on her buttocks during a picture pose at the Minnesota State Fair in 2010.

Since then, multiple women have come forward saying Franken inappropriately touched them during photo ops and at other events.

Franken, in a statement, said the idea he would claim such conduct as a right as an entertainer was "preposterous". The alleged incident happened two years before he was first elected to the Senate. Kemplin said Franken cupped her breast as they posed for a photo.

A partly cloudy and mild Sunday
Skies will turn mostly cloudy heading into Monday afternoon with a few showers possible, especially across eastern Arkansas. Expect temperatures to drastically drop by the end of the week as a strong cold front moves in.

Franken describe behavior that can not be tolerated.
