Ohio State comes back to down MI

Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett goes down in the third after taking a hit.

Barrett suffered an apparent right knee injury during the third quarter.

MI took control of the game early, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter. J.K. Dobbins started the late drive with a six-yard run and then Mike Weber broke free for a 35-yard touchdown by getting a good burst of speed and having the flawless angle to use to his advantage.

Red-shirt freshman Dwayne Haskins Jr. led the Buckeyes right down the field to give Ohio State the lead and the eventual win, 31-20. Freshman JK Dobbins spearheaded a dominant Buckeyes running game with 101 yards on 15 carries, but it was another first-year player who loomed even larger to his team's comeback win against a long-time rival on the road. Ohio State (10-2, 8-1 Big Ten) will face Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game next Saturday.

Barrett almost threw an interception inside the 10-yard line and had a touchdown taken off the board because of a delay-of-game penalty, but he found a way to overcome those struggles and score Ohio State's first touchdown of "The Game" against the Wolverines. MI quarterback John O'Korn completed 17 of his 32 attempts for 195 yards, but made some untimely mistakes. Then, the Buckeyes faced a third-and-three from Michigan's 37-yard line, and Barrett worked out of the initial tackle attempt to advance the ball past the first-down marker for a five-yard gain. The extra-point try was blocked. A 13-play, 77-yard drive gave the Wolverines a 7-0 lead at the 6:02 mark of the first quarter.

The win keeps Ohio State coach Urban Meyer undefeated against MI, as he is 6-0 against the Buckeyes' archrival.

Donovan Peoples-Jones returned a punt 42 yards during the closing seconds of the quarter.
