McDonald's manager gets $9K for giving police tip about Seminole Heights killer

Seminole Heights murder victim Monica Hoffa's uncle spoke to media Tuesday night following the announcement by Tampa police that a suspect in all four murders is in custody.

Earlier in the day, Tampa police acted on a tip about a man with a gun.

Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan announced at a news conference that Howell Emanuel Donaldson, 24, would be charged with four counts of first degree murder.

The four killings happened within a month, all of the victims were alone when they were shot.

"We said all along that no tip is too small and somebody stepped forward and gave us what we needed", Dugan said. The co-worker looked inside the bag, spotted the weapon and approached a Tampa police officer who was sitting in the restaurant doing paperwork.

Donaldson graduated from St. John's University in NY in January 2017, according to school spokesman Brian Browne.

"We had a community that was on edge", Mayor Bob Buckhorn said.

"The person who called us, I can not thank them enough for standing up and doing the right thing", Chief Dugan said.

Richard Gonzmart, the owner of the Columbia restaurant group, pledged a $9,000 award for a tip that led to an arrest in the Seminole Heights murders.

Donaldson bought the gun and a 20-round box of bullets from Shooter's World in Tampa on October 3.

The officer called the operations center, and police determined it was the same gun used in the four murders.

Donaldson told police after his arrest that he purchased the Glock firearm on October 3 and picked it up four days later, when he also bought ammunition, WTSP reported, citing the affidavit. Police have said the shootings were in the same area and could be the work of a serial killer. "Today the light shines".

Perhaps Merkel's optimism that a coalition could still be salvaged from the September election was due to a change in tune from the SPD.

Donaldson did not live in the Seminole Heights neighborhood where the shootings occurred and the police said authorities have not been able to determine why Donaldson chose the area. "This community begins the healing process".

The police chief released new video about two weeks ago showing a similar-looking person with the same gait who was present near the last homicide, 60-year-old Ronald Felton, who was shot in the back on November 14.
