Late Sterling Goal Secures Man City Win Over Huddersfield

Late Sterling Goal Secures Man City Win Over Huddersfield

It was a milestone victory for City, who are the first team to claim 37 points from their opening 13 Premier League games.

City had the flawless response as Sergio Aguero equalized from the penalty spot before Raheem Sterling's late victor moved the leaders eight points clear of second placed Manchester United.

Huddersfield, that earlier this month beat City's rivals Manchester United, took the most unlikely lead when Nicolas Otamendi diverted a corner into his own net in first half stoppage time.

City posses an attacking arsenal few sides in world football can match, but it is perhaps the form of their rejuvenated England winger Raheem Sterling that will please Guardiola most.

"The Premier League is so tough", Guardiola told BBC Sport.

The decision to award a spot-kick to City came just moments after another flashpoint involving Sterling, as the 22-year-old went to ground after seemingly being felled by Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lössl, only to see his protests waved away by referee Craig Pawson. It's so important because you can not win the title with just one or two players scoring goals. But I think we know exactly what [it will be like at] Huddersfield, we were there last season and I think that helps us.

Pakistan releases alleged 'mastermind' behind 2008 Mumbai attacks
The review board had earlier allowed a 30-day extension to Saeed's detention, which is set to expire in the last week of this month.

Sterling's victor won Man City the three points and move eight points clear of their nearest rivals, Manchester United.

"We want to play in the best way and the best attitude", the City boss added.

"Eighteen wins in a row is unbelievable, including 11 Premier League wins in a row".

India seeks security guarantees from Pakistan for Jadhav's wife
Last week, Pakistan said it is also "considering" India's request to let Jadhav's mother meet him, apart from his wife. His mother Avantika had made repeated pleas earlier, which went unreciprocated by the neighbouring country.

Guardiola says they must match Huddersfield's desire and knows how unsafe they can be after drawing 0-0 there last season in the FA Cup.

DOJ to Sue to Stop AT&T-Time Warner Deal
AT&T plans to fight it court, saying its conclusion is a "radical and inexplicable departure from decades of antitrust precedent". For those who feel the merger between AT&T and Time Warner is a unsafe consolidation of media power, today is bittersweet.
