Apple HomePod Speaker Delayed, Will Miss Holiday Shopping Season

Apple meant to release the $349 HomePod in early December so it could be on holiday shopping lists and compete against Amazon's Echo and the Google Home speaker. HomePod will work with Apple's HomeKit platform to control smart-home devices. Amazon created Alexa for the Echo, and the virtual assistant has gone on to be the big breakout tech star of 2017. "We'll start shipping in the US, UK and Australia in early 2018".

Arkansas confirms Jeff Long out as AD, releases official statement
Long had previously been athletic director at Pitt and held the same post at Eastern Kentucky. Bielema holds a record of 29-32 for the Arkansas Razorbacks and is now 4-6 for the season.

The HomePod speaker was announced in June, with an initial launch date set for December.

Radio personality accuses Sen. Al Franken of unwanted kissing, groping
Tweeden said she assumed she could turn her head away or put her hand over Franken's mouth "to get more laughs from the crowd". I don't respect men who don't", said Franken, who joined the Senate in 2009 after a career as a comedian.

"Last holiday season, smart speakers were huge, and this season they're going to be huge", O'Donnell said. These specs puts it on par with some of the best speakers available on the market in its price range. Apple's accessory business, part of its Other Products segment, is minuscule compared to the iPhone and Services businesses, so the delay is unlikely to materially affect Apple's earnings. In a statement released today, Apple says that while it can't wait for people to use the smart speaker, "we need a little more time until its ready for customers".

Ezekiel Elliott Withdraws Appeal, Will Serve Full 6-Game Suspension
Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has been outspoken in his support of Elliott and has decried the league's actions. On Wednesday, Elliott withdrew his appeal, and the NFLPA will also be withdrawing the lawsuit that they filed on his behalf.

Apple fans waiting to get their hands on the company's latest foray into home smart assistants will have to wait a bit longer. We also send freebies and lots of other goodies exclusively to our email subscribers.
