The Nintendo Switch Now Supports GameCube Controllers

Those wily devils over at Nintendo have just given Switch owners something brilliant with no hype or build-up: the recently released Update 4.00 now introduces Gamecube controller support for the Nintendo Switch.

He was ejected during Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals for throwing his mouthpiece toward the stands. Kevin Durant finished with 29 points and 13 rebounds, Klay Thompson added 14 points.

Anyway, you can look for VVVVVV to arrive on the Nintendo Switch starting November 17th next month, in case you didn't already have a copy of the game on all the other systems it's now available for. Now, with a week's worth of digging, it's been discovered that the update added another ability that went unnoticed: GameCube controller support. Nice and easy. Presumably this won't work in handheld mode, because there's no wireless connectivity between the Switch and its dock. If you already bought the GameCube adapter for Wii U, then you may already own a great controller solution for Switch. The GameCube controller has no Z button on the left-hand side, plus there is no Home button, making it hard to return to the Switch's main menu from a game, notes GameSpot. Once this is done, the controller is ready to use. Games that works include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8.

Talking to TOI, Fauzia said Shahzadi was an angel because she worked on the case of her son despite huge odds. The 25-year-old freelance reporter had earlier raised her voice for missing persons in Pakistan.

By nature of it having a different layout, the GameCube controller does take some getting used to. But, now the support is pretty much official.

It seems that Nintendo is being sneaky with its Switch OS version 4.0, flying features under the radar since it released last week. Here is a look at how it works, courtesy of GameXplain: At the risk of reading too much into this, support for the GameCube controller could hint that Nintendo is prepping a GCN Virtual Console on the Switch.
