Sushma Swaraj Blasts Pakistan at the United Nations

Addressing the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, Swaraj said that while India is engaged in fighting poverty, Pakistan "seems only engaged in fighting us".

Swaraj said Pakistan PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi levelled various allegations on India, and the world thought "look who is talking".

'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' reception: Sequel gets panned by some critics
Granted, X-Men, Kick-Ass and Kingsman are all comic book adaptations, but very different ones spanning three different categories. The film's USA setting adds casual sartorial looks to that of the 2015 film, which featured predominantly formal wear.

At the BRICS ministerial meeting, Swaraj launched a veiled attack on Pakistan, stating that militants were continuing to find shelter in countries that are using terrorism as an "instrument of state policy".

The Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT) was proposed by India in 1996 to enhance prosecution and extradition of terrorists. "Pakistan's Prime Minister must answer why his nation spurned this offer", she said. She reminded Pakistan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's offer of a "hand of peace and friendship" immediately after taking office.

Earlier in the day, Sushma told her counterparts from the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) that there can be no justification for any acts of terrorism.

They reaffirmed their commitment to the United Nations as the universal multilateral organization entrusted with the mandate for maintaining worldwide peace and security, advance global development and to promote and protect human rights so as to build a brighter shared future for the global community. The India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) group's ministerial meeting, which was presided over by Sushma Swaraj, "called for a comprehensive and determined global action", including "the early conclusion and adoption of the CCIT to address the menace". "The fact is that when we are required to fight and destroy this enemy, the self-interest of some leads them towards duplicity". Evil is evil. Let us accept that terrorism is an existentialist danger to humankind. "You have produced terrorists", she claimed.

Pointing out that action against all terrorists was the need of the hour, she said that there are countries which are stalling the process by putting their self-interest first. She takes the podium for the second consecutive year. Swaraj also invited Danish participation for investment in India.
