70000 to be evacuated in Frankfurt

As reported by The Local, the discovery of the Blockbuster bomb has led to the planned evacuation of 70,000 out of 717,000 residents from the area this coming Sunday, the largest of its kind since the end of the war. It was known at the time for its power to obliterate entire blocks and buildings. The evacuation area would also include 20 retirement homes, the Opera house and the diplomatic quarter. There is no danger at present and the bomb site is cordoned off by police.

Police said the size of the bomb made extensive evacuation measures necessary. As many as 70,000 people in the German city will be evacuated prior to bomb diffusion on Sunday.
