Hurricane Harvey Pushes Astros-Rangers Series to Florida

"During the flooding of Hurricane Harvey in the greater Houston area, the Houston Astros approached the Texas Rangers about swapping the dates and locations of their final two series". "We'll make a decision on this weekend's series versus the Mets in the upcoming days as we continue to monitor the conditions", Ryan said. You guys have our home series, we'll take your home series. After a day off Monday, they will head to the Rays' indoor stadium, where the Astros will have "home" games far away from home, just like they did in the wake of Hurricane Ike in 2008 when they played two scheduled home games in Milwaukee.

In related news, the Major League Baseball also stated that the upcoming Astros-Mets series, originally scheduled at the Astros' Minute Maid Park in downtown Houston, may take place at Tropicana Field as well. "They wanted the six games in their homes".

According to Rangers General Manager Jon Daniels, "We didn't feel it was right to give our fans 24 hours notice that their tickets in late September were now good this week".

Amazon adds multi-room audio to Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Show
Multi-room audio playback is available to Echo owners in the US, UK, and Germany on Echo, Echo Dot , and Echo Show devices. Amazon is excited to be working with leading brands on this offering, including Sonos , Bose, Sound United, and Samsung.

In fairness to the Rangers, Ryan's statement left out the fact that Texas would have given the Astros all of the money made from the series and didn't include the Rangers proposals. "We had to look at our players' best interest and we had to look at the integrity of the schedule".

The Astros announced prior to Tuesday's game that all proceeds from the three-game set will go toward relief efforts. Earlier this afternoon, Major League Baseball and the Players' Association pledged to jointly donate $1 million towards relief efforts in the region. The Astros will return to Houston on Thursday night after their game against the Rangers. But even less important than baseball, are the ticket sales and attendance numbers of a August or September baseball game.

Alongside fellow Houston sports organizations the Texans and the Rockets, the Astros are stepping up to the plate to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Police personnel have fanned out on streets and lending a helping hand to the Mumbaikars who are in distress, an official said. The local trains have also been resumed on most of the stretches as water levels are receding in most parts of the city.

Remaining at Tropicana Field would allow the Astros' relocated games to be played without additional travel.

The Wednesday game will have a national ESPN audience, bringing more attention to the awful tragedy still unfolding in Houston. The Astros are designated as the home team. The Rangers (64-66) are three games back of the second AL wild-card spot, with five teams ahead of them in a muddled seven-team race.

The Astros will be considered the home team in each series. The Astros were already in North Texas after flying there rather than Houston on Sunday.
