Ferrari unveils its sexy new Portofino drop

A one-piece-cast exhaust header is said to reduce losses while the Variable Boost Management, which adjusts torque delivery to suit the gear selected, enables the Portofino to offer even higher levels of acceleration in all gears and lower fuel consumption compared to the outgoing model. The engine develops 600 HP and 800 Nm of torque. The results are a sleeker shape that Ferrari says is also more aerodynamic than the California T. The design also brings Ferrari's most humble model in line with the Italian sports vehicle maker's current design motif; we see plenty of 812 Superfast here, and that's a good thing in our eyes. Just as on the more expensive models in Ferrari's range, the e-diff in the Portofino communicates with the stability control system, called F1-Trac and the magnetorheological dampers so there's a consistency to the way the auto reacts. The Portofino's weight distribution is 46/54 front to rear.

The new Portofino is powered by an updated version of Ferrari's award-winning 3.9-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 which is also found in the 488 and the current Cali T. With the extra power, a sprint from 0-62 miles per hour happens in 3.5 seconds. With a base price around $200,000, the Ferrari California was the Italian automakers least expensive model. Lastly the damping system has been uprated with dual-coil technology.

Solution sought for supply ship unit as Maersk sells oil business
Maersk Oil is the first of the four energy companies in AP Moller-Maersk for which a structural solution has now been identified. The move is the latest in a wave of consolidation that has gripped the sector in recent years in response to the low oil price .

This time the rear design of the auto has been completely refreshed and is more aggressive, in an attempt by Ferrari to counter earlier criticisms for the Ferrari California family. The Portofio retains the California T's slight rear-weight bias, at 46:54 front to rear.

Overall dimensions have slightly increased on the California, with the Portofino measuring 16mm longer and 28mm wider, although it is 4mm shorter. The front bumper is installed with large twin secondary intakes while the front fender gets air fins and a vent to channel the air out of the front wheel arches.

Android Oreo is official
Meanwhile, you'll be able to watch videos while using other apps on your phone or tablet with its picture-in-picture feature. Spotted by Android Police , the video accompanying the Google+ post's teaser bore the word " Oreo " in the filename.

The Portofino features a 10.2-inch touchscreen, a new air-conditioning system and a new steering wheel.

The Portofino uses a folding hardtop roof to protect occupants from the elements. A redesigned wind deflector reduces air flow inside the cabin by 30% when the roof is lowered.
