Justin Trudeau's Eid-Themed Socks At Toronto Pride Stir Up Social Media

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has created a social media frenzy after he attended Toronto's pride march donning rainbow socks celebrating the Muslim holiday of Eid. This is just the second time in Canadian history that a PM has marched in the event-he marked the first previous year.

Despite the lack of uniformed police in the parade (the officers were invited to join the NYC pride instead) this year's Toronto Pride was another celebration of nationwide diversity and inclusivity.

Black Lives Matter activists shut down Seattle's Pride parade for about 30 minutes Sunday, protesting the police shooting death of 30-year-old Charleena Lyles.

They demanded "the removal of uniformed police and PRIDE-detailed vehicles from the NYC Pride parade". June is generally recognised as Pride Month throughout the US thanks to a police raid that occurred on the morning of June 28, 1969, at a gay bar called the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, New York City. The front part of the march was led by numerous protest groups, including Gays Against Guns, Black Lives Matter, the ACLU/NYCLU (which was also a grand marshal and invited Gavin Grimm and Chelsea Manning to ride on its car), and several outraged anti-Trump/anti-GOP and contingents.

If somebody is a fan of mine, you know, I think about people I'm a fan of, and how I'd want to have an interaction with them. Talking about her cast mates, the bombshell had nothing but praise. "In a room where all the energy is very masculine".

"Inclusion is the core value in our community and as long as a group or a company supports LGBT equality, then in my opinion, welcome aboard", he said. "You don't see many parades like this". "It's a handsome pride that we all should be in awe of", she added.

Normally, it's when the parade is over that some of the problems start, most of which are fueled by alcohol.

Thompson visited the quilt before heading to the Pride celebration, and says it's a stark reminder of the struggles of the LGBTQ community from the recent past.

"There were some 40,000 marchers behind them who needed to have their message (heard) as well", NYC Pride spokesperson James Fallarino said.

For the first time in National Basketball Association history, each of the first five draft picks were one-and-done freshmen. The Triangle has churned out eight lottery picks over the last five NBA Drafts , with Duke, North Carolina and N.C.

The parade's grand marshal was Lea DeLaria, star of the "Orange is the New Black" Netflix show and an IL native.

This isn't the first time that fashion dandy Justin Trudeau has skirted attention away from important events with his sock fashion.

Perry Bellegarde of the Assembly of First Nations also took part in this year's event, making him the first National Chief to participate in a Pride event.
