Neymar faces Clasico ban for red card clap

Neymar faces Clasico ban for red card clap

Neymar was sent off during Barcelona's 2-0 defeat at the hands of Malaga on Saturday.

But Neymar sarcastically applauded the fourth official as he walked off the pitch meaning he has been handed an extra game suspension.

Referee Jesus Gil Manzano wrote down in his report that Neymar committed that act.

Neymar will miss this weekend's home game against Real Sociedad, the April 23 trip to the Bernabeu, and the home clash with Osasuna three days later.

Trump considering to introduce sanctions against Russia, Iran for supporting Syria
Tonight, I ordered a targeted military strike on the air base in Syria from where the chemical attack was launched. Iran has provided crucial military and economic assistance to Assad throughout Syria's six-year civil war.

It was the first red card of Neymar's career at Barcelona and the team's first dismissal of the season in any competition.

FC Barcelona's Neymar reacts during the Spanish La Liga soccer match between FC Barcelona and Sevilla at the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona, Spain, Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

The report serves to suggest that Barcelona's stars will be desperate to right the wrongs from the Malaga loss in their Champions League quarter-final against Juventus with the first leg in Turin on Tuesday evening.

Barcelona will contest the decision before the appeals committee, which meets on Wednesday, on the same grounds that Neymar's sarcastic clapping did not constitute dissent and that the additional ban is therefore unjustified.

Tillerson: Russia 'failure allowed Syria chemical attack'
A week ago, Haley and Tillerson said that the United States was not working towards unseating Assad, and that such a decision should be up to the Syrian people .

And if he is banned for more than one league game he will be unavailable for the April 23 Clasico at the Bernabeu, a decisive day in the Liga title race with Madrid now three points clear.

The Barcelona forward was cautioned for slowing the game down, by tying his laces and then saw a second yellow for a clumsy tackle. "We have to have be very careful in some games because there were some ugly challenges from behind that went unpunished and tying boots was", Enrique added. "The rules are to be interpreted, but they should be the same for all".

If Barcelona are going to overtake Real Madrid in the La Liga standings, they will nearly certainly need three points out of El Clasico. "I don't understand how the foul on Sergi Roberto was given outside the area, but we are used to it".
