Dallas Cowboys will get plenty of national exposure in 2017

Dallas Cowboys will get plenty of national exposure in 2017

Breakdown: A repeat of previous year isn't going to be easy. You have Washington, a familiar opponent, on Thanksgiving night, and two uncommon opponents that sandwich it. Week 17 games are all "flex" eligible for Sunday Night Football depending on playoff implications.

The Giants play in prime time four times, although three are on the road (shocker), including a Thanksgiving night contest at Washington. They open with four of their first six on the road, including games in Philly and Dallas. Four of them will be on the road.

If the Cardinals get the Giants week 16, it also could be a huge travel trip for Giants fans, getting out of the cold northeast and heading to sunny Arizona. Their bye is in Week 8.

It's not a big blow for the Cowboys, as they will likely simply move on from Evans prior to the start of the season.

JOHN SCHMEELK: The first seven games are going to be one heck of a bellwether for the Giants.

Fans who want to see an offensive explosion should be looking forward to this game between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. None are expected to be easy games.

Rookie Denver coach Vance Joseph then will coach Denver in its first meeting with the Giants since Eli and Peyton Manning squared off as starting quarterbacks for the final time, a 41-23 Broncos win at MetLife Stadium on September 15, 2013. That is a pretty good group of quarterbacks.

Assuming the Giants will not only be in the playoff hunt again this season, as well as vying for the division crown, it's comforting to know they'll be playing three of their final four games at home. Now, Andy Reid's team is the reigning AFC West champion and formidable late-season foe. Not only do they have zero primetime games like the Jaguars, all but two of their games are 1 PM ET kickoffs.

A successful regular season typically gives National Football League teams plenty of exposure the following season, and the Dallas Cowboys are no exception this time. Similarly, the Pittsburgh Steelers have eight at 1 p.m. The Cowboys have only two of the early afternoon games - October 1 at home against the Rams, and New Year's Eve at the Eagles. Fast & Furious Spin-off with The Rock & Statham is ON!
The franchise had a long time to flesh out some of these characters, yet they're still so two-dimensional it's unbelievable. The time that the film does slow down, and explains to you why everything is going on, is when the film is at its lowest.
