Dallas Cowboys NFL Trade Rumors: Cowboys Unlikely to Trade Tony Romo

All signs point to Tony Romo leaving Dallas this offseason. They probably don't want to give up assets to acquire a player who would land in the free agency market sooner or later.

The Cowboys intend to release Romo if a trade partner isn't found after owner Jerry Jones informed Romo of the team's plans in a meeting on Wednesday.

Billionaire Bill Ackman Exits Valeant with Huge Loss
The current share price indicate that stock is -31.65% away from its one year high and is moving 59.49% ahead of its 52-week low. Valeant's stock plunged 13% in active premarket trade Tuesday, putting it on course to open at the lowest level since May 2009.

Multiple sources told Schefter on Friday that Fox Sports also is interested in Romo - as a television analyst to replace John Lynch, who left in January to become the 49ers' general manager.

Romo has already said goodbye to Cowboys fans, but he may have to wait awhile before he can find a new team. Romo continues to want to display his talents and play a few more seasons, with a chance at being a starter for a Super Bowl contender. As has been the case all along, the Cowboys will likely end up cutting Romo. With the 13-year veteran still under the contract with Dallas, it's likely the team is trying to make a trade work with either the Texans or the Broncos. He is entering his fifth year of the current six-year $108 million contract with $55 million guaranteed.

The 37-year old quarterback was supplanted as the Cowboys starting quarterback following a back injury in the preseason. But as of now, there is a line in the sand in both franchises: The Broncos and Texans will not trade anything for him.

Free, 33, was heading into the final year of his three-year deal with the Cowboys, and had been a model of consistency, missing only five games over the past seven seasons.
